LEGO Play Day Employee Engagement Event Brings Employees Together Through Creativity, Competition, and Connection
LEGO celebrated its World Play Day, with 2026’s theme being Never Stop Playing, which featured Jason Momoa fronting the campaign to encourage kids, adults and everyone in between to make space for a little more play in their lives. NextGen Event Company participated in helping create LEGO Play Day’s Employee Engagement Event with experiences that transformed a typical workday into an immersive celebration of creativity, teamwork, and employee engagement at Lego offices in Boston, Massachusetts. Inspired by The LEGO Group’s commitment to learning through play, the event provided employees with a full day of interactive activities, friendly competition, and memorable experiences designed to strengthen workplace connections and encourage collaboration. LEGO’s annual Play Day initiative is centered around the idea that play fosters creativity, innovation, wellbeing, and stronger team relationships.

The event space was transformed into a vibrant playground where employees could step away from their daily routines and enjoy a variety of entertainment zones. One of the most popular attractions was the Soccer Game Lounge, where colleagues gathered to relax, socialize, and engage in friendly competition. Comfortable seating, large screens, and interactive gaming stations created an energetic environment that encouraged employees from different departments to connect and build relationships outside of the workplace.

Another crowd favorite was the Soccer Simulator experience. Participants tested their skills by taking powerful shots on goal while competing against coworkers for the highest scores. The simulator quickly became a focal point of the event, drawing enthusiastic spectators who cheered on participants and celebrated impressive performances. The activity provided the perfect blend of competition, excitement, and team spirit.
The Photo Booth activation added another layer of fun to the day. Employees captured group photos, team selfies, and playful memories using themed props and custom backdrops. Throughout the event, colleagues shared their photos across internal communication channels, creating lasting reminders of the experience and extending the excitement beyond the event itself.
No great employee event is complete without exceptional food and refreshments, and attendees were treated to a special visit from Ben & Jerry’s. The iconic ice cream station served a variety of flavors that quickly became a hit among guests. Employees enjoyed taking a break between activities to cool off with a sweet treat while networking with coworkers and friends.

In addition to the headline attractions, the event featured a variety of interactive games and team-building activities designed to encourage participation from everyone. Whether competing in casual challenges, collaborating on group activities, or simply enjoying conversations with colleagues, attendees found numerous opportunities to engage, connect, and have fun.
The event perfectly reflected LEGO’s belief in the power of play. Research highlighted by The LEGO Group has shown that workplace play can increase creativity, strengthen relationships, improve wellbeing, and foster innovative thinking. By creating an environment where employees could learn, connect, and play together, the event demonstrated how engaging experiences can positively impact workplace culture.
As the day came to a close, employees left with more than just photos and memories. They returned to work with stronger relationships, renewed energy, and a greater sense of community. The LEGO Play Day event in Boston successfully showcased how experiential activities, interactive entertainment, and shared experiences can bring people together while reinforcing the values of creativity, collaboration, and fun.
